How to Apply? (Step-by-Step)

The process is fully online on the national portal, but as an authorized vendor, Chidanand Solar handles the technical liaisoning for you.

1 Registration

Register on the national portal pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Select 'Gujarat' as State and your Distribution Company (e.g., DGVCL/GEB). Enter your Electricity Consumer Number exactly as it appears on your bill.

2 Feasibility Approval

The DISCOM engineers will verify if your local transformer has the load capacity to handle your solar output. Once approved, you receive a 'Feasibility Sanction'.

3 Installation by Authorized Vendor

Crucial Step: You must install the system through an Empanelled Vendor like Chidanand Solar. If you use a non-authorized installer, your subsidy application will be rejected automatically.

4 Net Metering Setup

After installation, we upload the 'Work Completion Report'. GEB officials will visit your home to install the Bi-directional Net Meter, officially linking your system to the grid.

5 Subsidy Credit

Once the meter is live, the Govt generates a 'Commissioning Certificate'. You will receive the ₹78,000 subsidy directly in your linked bank account within 30 days.

Required Documents

Keep these documents ready to ensure a smooth, delay-free application process.

Aadhaar Card
Latest Light Bill
Property Tax Bill (Vera Bill)
Cancelled Cheque
Passport Size Photo
Bank-Linked Mobile No.

Top Reason for Rejection

Name Mismatch: The name printed on your Electricity Bill MUST exactly match the name on your Aadhaar Card and Bank Account. If your light bill is still in the builder's name or a deceased relative's name, you must get it transferred before applying for solar.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum subsidy I can get?

Under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, the maximum central subsidy is capped at ₹78,000. This applies to residential systems that are 3kW in size or larger. Systems smaller than 3kW receive a proportionally lower subsidy (₹30,000 for 1kW, ₹60,000 for 2kW).

How long does the subsidy take to arrive?

Once your solar system is installed and the Net Meter is officially activated by DGVCL/GEB, the government portal processes your commissioning certificate. The subsidy amount is usually credited directly to your DBT-enabled bank account within 30 to 45 days.

Do I pay the full amount upfront?

Yes, initially you pay the full project cost to the installer. The government transfers the subsidy directly to Your bank account later. However, we offer excellent EMI and Solar Loan options through partner banks to help cover the upfront cost!
